Eric Carle’s beloved children’s book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, turns 40 years old this year. Can you believe it? As children all over the world chant, “But he was still hungry” (in their native tongue, of course), Carle himself reflects on the evolution of the book in this video.
I have to admit, as much as I love the book, I may love the author more. He just seems like the quintessential grandpa, doesn’t he?
